In Memory of Muriel Shand

Muriel Shand, age 86, of Cambridge passed away July 26, 2026 at GracePointe Crossing.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 29th at North Isanti Baptist Church in Cambridge.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Muriel Maxine “Tootsie” Bloom Shand was born December 18, 1939 in Milaca, Minnesota to Marvin and Lillian (Hagglund) Bloom. She was raised in Milaca and graduated from Milaca High School in 1957. On February 1, 1964 Muriel married James Shand. They made their home in Minneapolis until 1971 when they moved to Isanti. They were active members of Long Lake Lutheran Church for many years. After James passed away, Muriel moved to North Isanti Baptist Church to be close to family and became an active member. Muriel was employed as a secretary at several places, including many years at Honeywell. 

Muriel loved time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, serving at church, traveling, baking, playing games and she was a big MN Vikings fan. She was a faithful servant, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Muriel passed away July 26, 2026 at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; brother, Vernon Bloom; sister, Shirley Janzen; sister-in-law, Nancy Bloom; and brother-in-law, John Janzen.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Debbie) Shand, Jacquelyn Keocher, and Jennifer (Brian) Bergman; grandchildren, Tyler, Nick and Chris Keocher, Jake (Kayleigh) Bergman, Kristin (Bradley) Fisher, and Ben Bergman; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Layla, Eleanor and Henry; half-brothers, Roger (Kathy) Bloom, and Alan Bloom; and by other relatives and friends.
