Rizalina “Sally” R. Stangler, 62 year old resident of Isanti, MN passed away July 16, 2026 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 23 at New Hope Community Church – ISANTI Campus. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, July 22 at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti as well as one hour prior to the service at the church the day of the memorial service.
Rizalina Rivo was born on December 30, 1963 to Vicente and Francisca Rivo in Quezon City, Philippines. She married Greg Stangler on December 10, 2023 and had a honeymoon type of marriage. She was kind to everyone she met, hard working in school, work, and especially in relationships, joyfully generous, constant in her selflessness, with an amazing sense of humor; finding joy in all things (especially winning at 65 and bananagrams or watching her favorite movies over and over again) but above all she loved God and loved all the people around her. She was a mother to all of her children’s friends the moment they walked through her front door. She not only showed them the love of a mother, she would not hesitate to start joking with them, and sharing life advice. She was worth the whole world.
Rizalina is survived by her loving husband, Greg Stangler; four children, Luke, Shawn, Bethany, and Rachel; siblings, Virginia, Marlene, and Ernie; grandchildren, Malachi, Levi, and Lydia & Bellamy and Amara.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Francisca; her father, Vicente; her brother, Ruben.
One of the sweetest, most loving people I know. Tiny, for sure, but a huge heart. She loved the Lord, her family and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her🩷
I am so heartbroken that she is gone from us so soon. I agree with you Peggy, she was tiny in size but everything else about her was large! Her heart for Jesus and her kids and her family and for her church. A beautiful brilliant light has definitely left this world and I am so blessed to have had her as a sister in law. I rejoice that she is with our Lord and Savior even though I want her back for more time.
Sally, I love you, I miss you! I know you would be so proud of your amazing kids! And I look forward to the day we are reunited in Heaven. 🌸💝
I am so saddened that you are gone! You are so wonderful , full of spiritual messages when I needed it. I will cherish our friendship forever my friend. I will always pray for you !! Sally, my friend I love you and will miss you..❤️🙏
We were married on March 18, 1989, and we had the four best children in the world (still do, still are). As Sally said to me in 2010, “We had a lot of good times together”. That we did.
She wasn’t much of a cook when we first married, but determined as she was, she became one of the best. Even to the point that we had some friends who wanted to open a “Sally’s” Restaurant and go into business with her. Can you imagine the chain we could have by now?
Another incredible thing she did was that when I was a Flight Attendant and would have a layover not too far away, she would pack up the kids and sometimes even my Mom too, and drive to my layover hotel. We would spend that precious time together as a family. She drove to Rochester, and places in Wisconsin. On New Year’s Eve 1999 (Y2K), she even got the kids on a plane so we could be together in California with Uncle Mark and Aunt Nicki. We had a great time at a very nice layover hotel.
I have missed Sally for many years … But this is different. I had always hoped that we would reconcile, even after she married Greg (with all three of us becoming friends through their blessed marriage). But now she is Home … where there is no more pain … Just Joy Forever.
God has His ways … Which we don’t understand … But that’s why He tells us to …
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit to Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
(Prov. 3:5,6)
I always loved being greeted by Sally at church! What a beautiful way to start a Sunday morning. Such a kind and encouraging woman with a heart for serving the Lord. I love her passion for people and worshiping the savior. We will miss her greatly but know she is dancing up in heaven in the arms of the father. Prayers for her family and loved ones.
Sally and I became friends exactly 30 years ago when Joel & I moved to Orange County, CA (where she and Dave were living). She quickly became like a sister. We enjoyed many fun times together during our five years there. Through our moves and her moves our friendship remained….
We both found ourselves together again living in MN.
I will forever treasure our friendship.
Much love to her entire family through this most difficult time. I find my comfort in knowing that she is now eternally in the presence of her Savior.
To my incredible wonderful sister, I am so painfully hurt that part me is lost emotionally and mentally but because of you I will do my best , to me you’re not just my sister, my best friend too that understands me w/o even telling you anything, thank you for all the love, understanding that you’ve given us specially when I was in my vulnerable times. A peacemaker that would try anything to get our family come together, I know you’re now in safer place with Tatay, Nanay and the rest of our family, don’t stay too late playing 65, big sister here so grateful to have you, love you very much till we meet again.

I have known Sally since the mid-1980’s through our church on Guam and we have remained close over the years because she was so very good at keeping in touch. After she moved to the states the phone would often ring at 1 or 2 in the morning and it was inevitably Sally just checking in – forgetting the time difference between the States and Guam. But I am so grateful for all the calls. In fact, we just had a great long chat 2 weeks ago and she was praying for my ministry trip these last couple of weeks. I had planned to call and give her an up-date today. Instead she is dancing jubilantly with her Lord and Savior. Greg, I have prayed for you since she first met you and will continue to pray for you. I’m so grateful you had these last few years together and I know you will miss her greatly. Kids – oh how she loved you and worked hard to be the best mom possible. Many of our talks were about that. I don’t know you in person but I have prayed for you your whole lives. You know that her greatest wish is for you to walk daily with your Lord. I pray that you will continue to do so. One day you all will have a wonderful reunion but today it is okay to be sad too at the missing you are and will feel. My heart felt love and care goes out to you all.
To my best friend, the world feels a little less bright without you in it
It’s been wonderful knowing you, and you’ve brought many good times great memories, fine conversation, laughter, and love. I will cherish our bond forever, I’m going to miss our coffee dates every weekend. I will miss you forever my beautiful dear friend.
Sally, we had such fun with your family in The Philippines when Luke was born. I hope and pray God comforts them, and all of us with the knowledge that you are at peace and home with the Lord now. I love you and know that you are looking down in Love for all of us.
I am so sad to hearing about Sally’s passing. I worked with her at Hennepin County and when I was new 10 years ago, she introduced herself and offered up any help that would be needed. She was always cheerful to be around. When we had a flex schedule we would often stay a little late in the evenings before catching the bus home. Sally, you will be missed by Hennepin County residents and co-workers alike.
I was so saddened to hear about Sally’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with her at Hennepin County, and every conversation I had with her was filled with kindness and laughter. She will truly be missed. My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and everyone whose lives she touched.

Sally brought such incredible energy and warmth energy and her positivity had a way of lifting everyone around her. She was a genuinely good person with a huge heart, always willing to help, always able to make you smile. I feel lucky to have worked alongside her, and she will be missed more than words can say.
