Oliver Fredrick Peterson, age 93, of Ogilvie passed away October 18, 2026 at M Health Fairview Ridges in Burnsville. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 23rd at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fish Lake Lutheran Cemetery in Harris.
Oliver Fredrick Peterson was born October 22, 1932 to Fred and Ethel (Swanson) Peterson. He grew up on the farm in Stark, Minnesota where he enjoyed animals and working in the fields. In 1952 he was drafted into the Army. After returning from the service, he met the love of his life, Gloria in 1955. They purchased the farm in Day, Minnesota in 1961 and raised their four children there. He enjoyed driving the countryside looking at the fall colors. He and Gloria took several bus tours, and enjoying time at the State Fair Machinery Hill and at the Casino. He also enjoyed playing cards. He never met a stranger he couldn’t talk to.
Oliver passed away October 18, 2026 at M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville at age 93. Oliver is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ethel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Gloria; sons, Richard (Pam) Peterson, Ronald (Peggy) Peterson; daughters, Rhonda Trisko, Renee (Brian) Sutton; grandchildren, Sheri (Brad), Scott (Barb), Dan (Rachel), Jennifer, Stephanie (Abe), Michelle (Nate), Alex (Valen), Ben (Diana), Brady (JoEllen), Taylor (Jacey), Alex (Olivia); great-grandchildren, Raeleigh, Regan, Rowan, Wyatt, Autumn (James), Violet (Jack), Lena, Jordy, Isaac, Charlie, Wesley; 8 great-great-grandchildren; other family and friends.
